Occupational Health – Hazardous Chemicals
Course Outline
Course description:
Chemical hazards and toxic substances pose a wide range of health hazards (such as irritation, sensitization, and carcinogenicity) and physical hazards (such as flammability, corrosion, and explosibility).
Often workers only start suffering the consequences of their exposure to hazardous chemicals when they are at the retirement stage and the diseases caused through exposure are difficult to diagnose and unless the employer has a proactive system of identification, it may be seen as normal ill-health of the worker.
This course will provide you with a thorough understanding of risks involved in being exposed to hazardous chemicals, the importance of the use of respirators, and how to conduct a risk assessment on hazardous chemicals.
