Course Outline
Course description:
Human Factor for Police services personnel, with its origins in Aviation, is a training program based on human performance and human error evidence from ‘Black Boxes’ researched for over 50 years, and provides unique and dynamic perspectives into Human Behaviour, Human Error, Accidents and Incidents.
The Human Factor training curriculum has been broken up into a series of shorter courses as follows:
HF 01 – An Introduction to Human Factors (This course)
HF 02 – Mind State Management for safety in high-risk environments.
HF 03 – Improving Communication in high-risk environments.
HF 04 – Human Performance Limitations and Workload Management.
HF 05 – Decision Making and dynamic risk-assessment.
HF 06 – Situational Awareness in high-risk environments.
HF 07 – Teamwork in high-risk environments.
HF 08 – Leadership in high-risk environments.
HF 09 – Threat and Error Management in high-risk environments.
All or just some of the courses can be completed, however we recommend completing the series.
This training will provide personnel with the knowledge, and tools to reduce human error and improve performance. These programs have been designed specifically for police personnel, where human error and human behaviour can:
1 – impact the crime levels, search and rescue operations, and disaster management in a country or region
2 – contribute to incidents and accidents, and
3 – have major psychological effects on individuals in these critical and unique services.
