Occupational Health – Ergonomics
Course Outline
Course description:
Working in an office may seem relatively safe, but office employees can still be at risk for workplace injuries. Improper posture or poor workspace layout can cause disruptive strains, sprains, and tears in the body, which are the most common work-related injuries.
Workplace injuries can be painful, debilitating, and costly, whether caused by a one-time accident or from repetitive actions or movements over time. Workplace injuries can be prevented if we provide employees with knowledge, tools, equipment, and an environment that reduces inadvertent strain on the body and promotes healthier workplace habits.
This course provides the knowledge to identify, and mitigate poor ergonomics in the workplace. This includes poor workplace layouts in order to ensure the best level of comfort for the workforce.
