Understanding Human Error in Oil & Gas
Course Outline
Course description:
Target Learner: All personnel working in Oil & Gas.
Human error contributes to a significant portion of the Oil & Gas industry related incidents and accidents. Errors can be active (unsafe actions by operators) or latent (underlying conditions like inadequate procedures or weak safety culture that enable errors).
Error prevention efforts focus on improving human-machine interfaces, strengthening safety culture, providing better training and procedures, and ensuring leadership commitment to safety to mitigate risks.
In order to reduce human error, we first need to understand it – what type of errors are made, and why they are made. This course provides Oil & Gas workers with an in-depth knowledge of Human Error in an effort to improve safety.
